Our discounted rate at the hotel is no longer available. If you wish to book a room at the Marriott, please use the main hotel website and book using a standard rate.

Travel

We have collected some short instructions on how to get to the venue and around the city once you have arrived. For details, check with local transport authorities.

Arriving by air

Lisbon Marriott Hotel is only about 6 kilometres from “Aeroporto de Lisboa”. The city can be reached via public transport, taxi or Uber.

Taxi from the Lisbon airport takes approximately 15 minutes, and costs around 15-20 EUR, depending on traffic. The Taxi stand is pointed out at the airport when you leave the arrival zone. In case you prefer taking Uber, please make your way up to the departure zone and order it at the short-term car park of terminal 1.

If you like to take the bus it will take about 30-50 minutes to get to the hotel. There are 2 options:

  1. Take bus line 783 direction Amoreiras (4 stops) to the stop “Hospital Júlio de Matos” and change to the bus line 755 direction Sete Rios (5 stops). The final stop near the hotel is “Universidade Católica”.
  2. Take the bus line 744 direction Marques Pombal (5 stops) and change at the station “Largo Frei Heitor Pinot” to the bus line 755 direction Sete Rios. Again the stop near the hotel is “Universidade Católica”.

It is not recommended to take the metro to the hotel as it would involve multiple changes with metro and bus.

Taxi

For safety reasons we strongly advise you to use licensed taxi services (beacon sign TAXI, a hologram with the license number and the vehicle's registration number on the front glass, and yellow/red stripes with the symbol of Lisbon). There is a 3.42 EUR minimum price for hailing a Lisbon taxi and the fare increases based on distance (0.47 EUR per km), journeys are 20% more expensive during the night hours of 9pm-6am.

Uber is also commonly used in Lisbon and usually has a slightly lower price.

Metro

The metro can be used to get around Lisbon very easily. The Metro stations closest to the venue are Jardim Zoológica and Entre Campos. Tickets can be purchased inside the station at a counter or a ticket machine, which accept debit cards and cash. For more information on the prices and the metro map, please check out their website. If you like to explore Lisbon, whilst being at the conference, the following stops are recommended: “Rato”, “Baixa Chiado” and “Avenida”.
